Nowadays, environmental problems are causes through the use of fossil fuels. This is a serious issue because it affects people’s health and the life of aquatic organisms. This essay will consider the main causes of using fossil fuels, before promising two possible solutions.
Perhaps, the most important impact of using fossil fuels is the creation of air pollution. With a few alternatives, many people choose travel by car, as it is quicker and more convenient. As a result, air pollution occurs and affects people’s health. Another key factor is that air pollution contributes to acid rain across the area and the lakes nearby. This means that people’s lives are extremely affected by fossil fuels. For instance, fine dust pollutants are evident on the roads across China.
Fortunately, however, there are two problem promising solutions to this problem. First of all, the local government should invest more in public transport. This would reduce more cars and air pollution in the environment. For example, in my city, the local government has established a network of cycle pathways which encourage the residents to cycle to work. Secondly, the households could change to use other energy sources available in nature, consisting of solar energy or wind energy. This would reduce the occurrence of acid rain which affects aquatic organisms, fish in the lakes or the rivers, and people across that area.
In conclusion, using fossil fuels is a serious problem which is primarily due to the lack of available public transport, along with the contribution to create acid rain. I recommend that government should address this problem by investing in public transport infrastructure. On the other hand, local governments should encourage households to use renewable energy sources.
